First week of last semester
esp dedicated to DTM July 05'

school has been on for 3 days now! more or else tuned back to waking up 6 plus 7am :)

this semester will be pretty happening cause of Convention & Exhibition project which is our final and major project which involves everyone in the class. as the subject stated, its on convention and exhibition.

being voted as the Executive Director for this particular major project, ehh, just use the word "leader" haha executive director sounds too big a word isn't it ? ive got mixed feelings for it!
at first was : oh shit man, i dunno how to do
on 2nd thought : im flattered cause majority believe i can do it thats why they voted for me right?
and then.. : all the stress hit on!

though i didn't have a good sleep last night figuring abt the theme we wanna work on, the possible problems and obstacles we gonna face, all the money and budget issues. yeah, can't help, i just can't get things outta my mind, and when im in it, i really hope its gonna be well and not look back and realise theres so much we could have done..

38 people, 38 minds, 38 pair of hands, $0 and just 6 weeks.

putting all the stress im facing aside,
my classmates have really been a great support though they didnt explicitly said "GO GEKTENG!" but its little things they say & do that really push me into this whole project.

aft being elected i said something like "Mrs Toh, can Justin be the Executive Director and i be his assitant instead? cos' i dun think i can handle it"
Candy said "Ni Ke Yi De! "
Vanus said something like "Don't worry lah! you can one!"
awwww, it was really nice, really. it was one of the first thing that urge me further.

after which, it came our very first discussion on the theme and the concept of the whole proj.
I had full attention of everyone, though the atmosphere was really quiet and dry, but i could feel that everyone was thinking abt something to contribute for.

then of course, they all gave suggestions, raising their hands to give their opinions.

yesterday night, Yang Heng made me stay up till like midnight cos he said he have something regarding the project to show me. he actually did powerpoint slides on his idea just to give me a better idea. really, i appreciate alot and for once i got formal with him, thanking him like 10 times from yst till today. its the effort i see.. though we couldnt use his Halloween idea, but im sure the class had a better idea of how Halloween is like.. =) Thank you once again!

and today, we were supposed to stay back aft a short day at school. i was thinking before i even start the discussion "Aiyah, i think i'll just take up 30mins, im sure everyone will wanna rush off since its a short day at school"

the discussion went on, the responds were even better than yesterday, we got our theme choosen and i could feel the enthusiasm in their tones.. as we discuss further i could see the whole project coming alive..! its like they finally enlighten me, giving me a better idea of the whole project we'll be engaging in. they all built up the confidence in me to hold the discussion further.

man! you dunno how relieve i was when we finally settled for a theme, at least there's something to work on and we can move on from there~

oh anyway! the theme we've choosen is : Travel Maze
its diff for me the explain the whole concept to those outta the class, but im sure 6 weeks later, with the photos taken i'll be able to explain better :) stay tune peeps!

oh okok back to the discussion part,
we then break ourselves up into our respective departments,
i actually only wanted them to think of a country they wanna work on, cause if theres more to discuss, its gonna take up more time,
then as they got into their groups, i went around listening - they were already starting in the bits of the details!

trust me, i was smiling inside. cause i can feel how much they are into the project as much as i am! and the feeling just got stronger when they shared on what they have discussed for the whole 20-30mins.. it gave me a good bird's eye view of the whole thing.

standing in front of the class of people we have spent almost 2yrs with, watching them listening to your ideas, your proposal, your thoughts, when they looking at you, they give you a nod or a smile to let you know you're on the right track. aiya i dunno how to explain! you gotta really be there then you will feel the emotions flowing inside! i enjoyed every bit of it :)

though its just the very beginning, not sure whats gonna happen along the way.. all the problems we'll be facing.. i just hope this flame will keep on buring.

its our last, make it a good one!
like ive said today, we're one family. no matter how you see it, we really are! at least for this project, we have to work like one big family, help one another, think for one another..

thank you DTMJuly05' for all the support you guys have been giving me and will be giving me for this whole project..
this chance and opportunity im given to make myself a better leader.
though stressful, but im very sure i'll learn alot and grow closer to this class.
i know i will be able to do this well cos i have all of you! Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.

one man can be a crucial ingredient on a team, but one man cannot make a team. we all coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success, and always remember, a successful team is always made up of many hands but one mind --- to do this well altogether..
